Sonic the Comic #142

4–17 November 1998

Issue overview

A thief leaves Sonic a personal message after robbing the Metropolis Zone Bank. Sonic and Porker investigate the promised second theft, making Revenge a mystery about someone from Sonic's past.

Original stories

  1. Sonic · Revenge #

A thief challenges Sonic by stealing half the gold from the Metropolis Zone Bank and promising to return for the rest. Porker's hidden transmitter leads them to Nack, whose shrinking cartridges let him outwit Sonic and escape before the police arrive, although the gold is recovered.

Script: Nigel Kitching · B&W art: Roberto Corona · Colour: Kev Hopgood · Letters: Ellie de Ville

  2. Amy · Day One #

Amy and Tekno emerge on prehistoric Mobius and mistake dinosaurs in spacesuits for invaders. The scientists are actually using the Ring of Eternity and a Spark of Evolution to begin life on suitable worlds, making the visit a reward rather than a battle for survival.

Script: Lew Stringer · B&W art: Roberto Corona · Colour: Nigel Dobbyn · Letters: Elitta Fell

  3. Tails · Rise and Fall #

The Green Hill Zone's enormous celebratory rocket has been sabotaged by Mad Ferret, sending it into the Statue of Freedom instead of the sky. Tails catches the culprit and rallies the shaken residents when they fear Robotnik will return.

Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Mick McMahon · Letters: Elitta Fell

Reprinted stories

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog · The Sonic Terminator, Part 4 #

Trapped with Amy on the Miracle Planet, Sonic outruns Metallix and meets a small future version of himself. A Time Stone offers a way to attack the machinery in the planet's past.

    First appeared in issue 27.
