Sonic the Comic #83
2 August 1996
Issue overview
Robotnik studies Sonic's inability to swim and has Grimer turn the air bubbles he relies on into a trap. Bubble Trouble builds its threat from a familiar weakness in the games and comics.
Original stories
Sonic the Hedgehog · Bubble Trouble #
Robotnik notes Sonic cannot swim and has Grimer twist air-bubble tricks against him. In Labyrinth Zone, spider Badniks dunk Sonic into shrinking ultra-tough plastic; he climbs free using Spiker shards only for a fire-breathing foe to melt the prison by accident. Spiders fall, and Robotnik is already drafting nastier traps.

Reprinted in issue 159.
Knuckles · Troubled Waters, Part 2 #
Knuckles punches the electrified Octonaught, gets swatted aside, then races circular rock stacks as Claw blasts each pillar. One last circuit topples stone onto the mecha and wrecks it; Knuckles finds the chest safe and presses an oar into Claw's claws. The crab rows them to shore, complaining about prisoners' rights the whole way.
Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Nigel Dobbyn · Letters: Elitta Fell
Reprinted in issue 195.
Tails · Mystery Villain #
A flying Badnik hounds Tails through factory-choked Grim Zone, blaming him for its armour. He tricks it into blasting a smokestack that buries the shell and reveals Metamorphia - stripped of shape-shifting after earlier failures. She renounces Robotnik, becomes a gentle bear, and walks free with Tails' blessing.
Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Mike Hadley · Colour: Steve White · Letters: Tom Frame
Reprinted in issue 182.
Megadroid · On the Move #
Fed up fetching coffee and licking boots, Megadroid packs oil and a dark birthday polaroid and quits. Railway buffet, cruise-liner waiter, then Pomfret-on-Sea computer shop with a lady droid who never offers a plastic chip - he drifts home. The office throws a welcome party; he is just in time to make the coffee.
Script: Lynne Gibbs · Art: Nick Abadzis · Letters: Elitta Fell
