Sonic and the Chaotix negotiate access through the Omni-Door so he can return to the Special Zone, but Root interrupts with two enslaved villains. A fight breaks out, and the pair are carried off by the mysterious force behind the Mandrake Swamp legend.

Tails · The Sky's the Limit #
Tails faces Sydney Bland, a would-be tyrant who has inherited a flying saucer and refuses to give up after an initial defeat. After Bland steals a consignment of giant Power Rings from the Eldorado Zone, his overloaded saucer can no longer fly; Tails intercepts him, and Bland admits that wealth failed to make him happy.

Knuckles · The Take-Over, Part 1 #
A D.R.A.T. assault on the Floating Island masks Ms Alpha's team's real objective. Knuckles and Porker see through the diversion, but Mr Beta keeps Knuckles busy while Mr Delta blinds him. The intruders then throw the Guardian from the island, apparently clearing a path to the Emeralds.
