Researcher Pringle leads Sonic to a disused Robotnik facility, where the hedgehog finds a prototype Trooper. Pringle turns the machine against him, but the Badnik instead treats its creator as a living power source; Sonic rescues Pringle as the base starts to cave in.

Amy · Out of Time, Part 1 #
Amy and Tekno's next Ring of Eternity destination is Kansas during the 1860s, where outlaw Butch is troubling the sheriff. After Amy helps the lawman, Tekno investigates reports of tin men and is shot down by a robot; Amy rides to the rescue, and the pair identify Colonel Granite as the force behind the trouble.

Tails · Rat Race #
Tails has already caught a roller-skating pig robber when Rat Bratt challenges him to a race. Bratt wins each checkpoint while Tails flies between them, but the apparent champion is using a twin brother and a helicopter; the cheating pair are run out of town.
