Sonic the Comic #105

28 May–10 June 1997

Issue overview

Sonic and Tails find ancient ruins on Flickies' Island while investigating a warning from one of its birds. The island's apparently empty landscape hides a new Robotnik operation in the second chapter.

Original stories

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog · Flickies' Island, Part 2 #

Sonic and Tails reach Flickies' Island and explore moss-covered ruins that should have been empty for centuries. Inside they find Robotnik, who unveils a glowing gold Mobius Ring — a portal from the Flickies' home dimension — and new Badniks powered by the birds as organic batteries. Sonic's first strikes barely dent the shells; he finally smashes one, but in that time Robotnik has seized Tails.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson · Letters: Tom Frame

    Reprinted in issue 221.

  2. Captain Plunder · Captain Plunder and the Spice Maidens, Part 3 #

Zorabel finally produces her map, which points not to the Akotek Treasure but to Krakiota the sea serpent at Skull Rock, who knows every secret on Mobius. The dread beast proves tiny enough to sit on Plunder's palm and will answer only three questions. Plunder wastes two; Zorabel asks whether he knows where the treasure is hidden, and he answers yes — then stops. Facing Simpson's cooking pot, Krakiota starts thinking about bending the rules.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Nigel Dobbyn · Letters: Elitta Fell

    Reprinted in issue 206.

  3. Decap Attack · Wish #

Chuck and Igor are at each other's throats when Head frees a pixie trapped in a green bottle. Head wishes Igor were not such a rat, and suddenly Igor is sickeningly helpful — bandaging Chuck, assisting the Professor, even trying to hug them. Head demands the pixie undo it; the pair go straight back to trying to kill each other, and Head tells Peter to shut up.

Script: Nigel Kitching, Richard Rayner · Art: Nigel Kitching · Letters: Ellie de Ville

  4. Sonic's World · Deception #

On a day off in the Rocky Valley Zone, Amy and Tekno duck ray-gun fire from apparent aliens outside a cave, then bore straight inside. They find a papier-mâché UFO blueprint and a chest of gold; the aliens peel off rubber masks to reveal Sid and Tone, who have been scaring locals away from the haul. Amy declares the gold fake film prop; the pair brawl, bury the chest in a cave-in and quit. Once they leave, Amy asks Tekno for another boring machine — she only lied to get rid of them.

Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Andy Pritchett · Letters: Tom Frame

    Reprinted in issue 221.
