Original stories
Sonic the Hedgehog · Project Brutus, Part 1 #
Grimer finishes Project Brutus by scanning Robotnik's brain patterns into a towering Ultimate Trooper, whom Robotnik names his second-in-command. When a spy spots Sonic's circus disguise in the Pleasant Zone, Commander Brutus intercepts the report and arrives with a Troop ship rather than informing his creator. Brutus shrugs off Sonic's assault as if it were nothing and, declaring himself unbeatable, orders his Troopers to open fire.

Ecco the Dolphin · Return of Ecco the Dolphin, Part 4 #
Armed with Vortex knowledge and the Asterite's gift of space-swimming, Ecco slips through the orbital gate into a thick, oil-like red sea and must pass for an ordinary captive. Sonar leads him to another dolphin; together they rally every stolen sea creature for a homeward escape. When the hostages are gathered, Ecco telepathically signals the Asterite on Earth that they are ready.

Knuckles and Tails · The Revenge of Trogg, Part 5 #
Held in the Dark One's forcefield, Knuckles, Tails and Morain can only watch as the Enchanter Kings are twisted into Trogg-like monsters. The demon's full concentration on the change drops the barrier, so the heroes snatch the Dark Orb and flee to the Dimension Bridge, where they hurl it into non-existent space and the Dark One is pulled after it to its doom. The Kings begin to revert, but Trogg remains a monster and turns on them in a rage.
Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Nigel Kitching · Letters: Elitta Fell
Reprinted in issue 202.
Sonic's World · Cybernik Strikes Back, Part 1 #
Shortfuse the Cybernik tears into a Trooper escort marching animals to Badnik processing and shrugs off a self-destructing guard. Among the freed prisoners is engineer Tekno the Canary; Shortfuse sought her out not to escape his Megatal shell but to have her build a bomb against Robotnik's Chemical Plant factory. At the Citadel, an enraged Robotnik accepts Grimer's suggestion and unleashes the shape-shifter Metamorphia to destroy the Cybernik.
