Original stories
Sonic the Hedgehog · Project Brutus, Part 3 #
Sonic, Amy and Johnny are chained together and paraded through the Pleasant Zone by Commander Brutus, while Robotnik furiously orders them brought to the Citadel at once. Brutus strikes a Trooper that urges obedience; Amy snatches the dropped gun and blasts him, and the shackled trio flee across a bridge the Troopers wreck behind them. Brutus's old SBS anti-gravity unit carries him over the gorge, and when he ignores Robotnik to finish them off, Sonic's spines flare and he becomes Super Sonic, snaps the chains and charges.

Ecco the Dolphin · Return of Ecco the Dolphin, Part 6 #
Stranded on the Vortex homeworld after freeing Earth's sea life, Ecco follows the Asterite's telepathic advice and makes enough noise to draw two alien riders on a manta craft. He wrecks one with super sonar, commandeers their Vortex beam, and the Asterite boosts it so he can swim home through the portal. With the creatures safe, the Asterite bids farewell and returns to its own realm, warning that the Vortex are unlikely to forget Earth.

Knuckles · The Homecoming, Part 1 #
Knuckles finishes work among the Chaos Emeralds and means to rest, until a forcefield alarm pulls him by Zoom Tube to ruined Megopolis City. A searching robot opens fire; he drops it into a crevice he punches open, then meets its quarry: an elderly white-furred echidna with a gold medallion. The stranger introduces himself as Doctor Zachary, the first of Knuckles' lost people to return to the Floating Island.
Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Nigel Dobbyn · Letters: Elitta Fell
Reprinted in issue 185.
Sonic's World · Cybernik Strikes Back, Part 3 #
Before Shortfuse and Tekno can flee the Chemical Plant, Metamorphia attacks, slipping into gas, axe-hands that shatter on Megatal, then a colossal tentacled sea form. She finally seizes Tekno and flies off on metal wings, leaving Shortfuse beside his own bomb as the factory erupts. His armour holds, but debris pins him underwater and he blacks out.
