Sonic becomes Super Sonic in the final confrontation with Commander Brutus. Amy sees the danger in that answer: a berserk Sonic may defeat the Trooper without being able to stop himself afterwards.

Sonic the Hedgehog · Project Brutus, Part 4 #
Super Sonic smashes into Brutus hard enough to crack his supposedly indestructible armour; when Brutus grabs Amy as a shield, Super ignores the hostage and tears the Commander's arm off at the elbow. Troopers and the Troop ship's Doom-Foam cannon fail to stop the chase, and Brutus flees to Metropolis while Sonic reverts with no memory of the fight. At the Citadel, Robotnik berates him for disobedience, but Brutus, sharing his creator's ambition, quietly schemes to rule Mobius himself one day.

Decap Attack · Monster of the Year, Part 1 #
The Professor, his monster Chuck, Igor and the talking skull Head board a train for the Monster of the Year finals, disguising Chuck under a blue coat with Head perched atop his shoulders. Chuck goads three thugs out of their booked compartment until one punches Head clear and the ruffians flee in panic. A ticket inspector then tosses the whole party off for tickets invalid on a blue day into a pink zone; nicer, Igor mutters, if they had stopped the train first.

Knuckles · The Homecoming, Part 2 #
Knuckles shows Zachary the Island and the Emerald Chamber, burning with questions the old echidna defers until he has rested, warning that the robot still hunts him. That night Knuckles confirms from ancient scrolls that the machine is a Guardian robot of his own people; it smashes through the wall, knocks him senseless, and Zachary claims it fled for the Emerald Chamber. They arrive just as the robot wrenches free the Master Emerald and shatters it to pieces.

Sonic's World · Cybernik Strikes Back, Part 4 #
Metamorphia delivers captive Tekno to Robotnik and boasts that Shortfuse died with his own bomb, then has to admit the blast also levelled the Chemical Plant factory, enraging the dictator. Underwater, Shortfuse's oxygen runs low until his jet boots free him and he races for the Citadel. Robotnik strips Metamorphia's shape-shifting and orders her processed into a Badnik just as a Trooper reports the Cybernik is already attacking the fortress.
