Issue overview

Sonic checks the Kintobor Computer for trouble while Tails handles Badniks in Metropolis. Hobson & Choy begins as two arrivals from the Drakon Empire bring a different problem into Robotnik's orbit.

Original stories

  1. Sonic · Hobson & Choy, Part 1 #

Sonic checks the Kintobor Computer, hears Tails is coping with Metropolis Zone Badniks, and shoots over anyway lest the fox fancy he can manage alone. On Drak, Grimer steers Emperor Ko-Dorr toward the Floating Island's Chaos Emeralds while Hobson and Choy — banged up for defacing a statue — pulp their Sentinel guards, nick a Dimensional Staff and dive through a Mobius Ring to anywhere but the Drakon homeworld. Sonic clocks the Badniks as outdated D.R.A.T. leftovers and leaves them for the police; the same Ring dumps Hobson and Choy into Robotnik's Flickies' Island base as the doctor watches unseen.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson · Letters: Ellie de Ville

  2. Knuckles · On the Run, Part 1 #

Knuckles hunts Porker Lewis when the Floating Island's ancient kit acts up and finds him translating a ring artefact — a Dimensional Gateway into the Special Zone. One clumsy bump opens it and both are yanked through into New Tek City's East River; Knuckles hauls Porker ashore, but another swim is firmly off the menu. Elsewhere Chaotix wrap up the Zombie Brothers while Espio and Mighty bicker over who hits hardest. Short of coin for a payphone to call them, Porker hotwires one and the police mark him as 'Oscar the Pig'.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Nigel Dobbyn · Letters: Elitta Fell

  3. Double Sonic · Bee Prepared #

In the Casino Night Zone Max Gamble touts Metal Mate — an unpaid robot builder who works ten times as hard as flesh-and-blood crews — to Eldorado Zone investors while local workmen seethe. The machine short-circuits and swings a hammer just as Charmy Bee drops in from the Special Zone courtesy of Vector; Sonic shreds the bot and Charmy flies its plutonium head clear before it blows. Gamble ducks into hiding until Charmy's relentless gabble — his 'cutey-duty' — drives the crook out screaming for a cell.

Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Mick McMahon · Letters: Ellie de Ville

  4. Sonic's World: Amy & Tekno · Breakout, Part 2 #

Vermin the Cybernik runs riot across the Metropolis Zone; Shorty reluctantly seals himself back into Cybernik armour so Amy and Tekno can bring him to the construction-site scrap. Vermin plugs his tail into a generator and powers up, then takes Shortfuse's bait and tries to drain him — soaking up the release program instead so his own suit cracks open. Shortfuse hauls the rat free, blasts the empty armour to scrap from inside, and is locked in his suit once more; Amy bags the powerless Vermin mid-bolt for Robotnik.

Script: Lew Stringer · B&W art: Andy Pritchett · Colour: Steve White · Letters: Gordon Robson
