Chaos reaches the Floating Island to claim the Chaos Emeralds. Knuckles confronts him in the Emerald Chamber as Tails and Amy approach, bringing the island's guardian into the heart of the final story.

    Knuckles ejects the Chaos Emeralds to keep Chaos from absorbing them. The Floating Island begins to fall, forcing the Freedom Fighters to escape as Sonic returns to his allies.

  1. Knuckles · Knuckles versus the Cybernik #

    Shortfuse chases a Balkiry onto the Floating Island, only for Knuckles to smash the Badnik and treat the Cybernik as another Robotnik trick. After a brief scrap Shortfuse lasers an ambush of Coconuts, earning an apology and a handshake; alone, Knuckles frets how lethal Shortfuse would be if Robotnik ever seized control of him.

  2. Tails! · Fox on the Run, Part 4 #

    Fleabyte drags rope-bound Tails and Tantrum through desert toward a Robotnik payday until Tails lifts off on free tails and the bounty hunter's shot only severs the ropes. Recapturing Tantrum beneath a shaky rock stack, Fleabyte meets another of the mouse's screams - and the landslide. Home in Metropolis Zone, Tantrum wants more adventures; Tails invents an excuse and bolts, certain Freedom Fighter danger is a doddle beside babysitting that mouse.

  3. Sonic the Hedgehog · The Rampage of Mekanik, Part 1 #

    Robotnik sulks through the deserted Emerald Hill Zone until Grimer points him at fresher prey. His towering new Mekanik stomps into the Stone Tower Zone, shrugging off Sonic's spin and Shortfuse's lasers alike. Amy slips an arrow between its armour plates while Shortfuse hauls Sonic to head height, but fire-breath downs the Cybernik and a metal fist closes on the hedgehog.
