Original stories
Sonic the Hedgehog · Ice Cap Attack, Part 1 #
Penguinator Badniks spill into Hill Top through a mid-air gateway that opens onto icy Floating Island terrain. Sonic dives through while the rest of the Freedom Fighters hold the line, and finds Knuckles already smashing the invaders. The pair strike a grudging Christmas truce to hunt the portal tech together; Robotnik, watching on a monitor, bets they will not live to see the holiday.
Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Mike Hadley, John M. Burns · Letters: Steve Potter
Reprinted in issue 170.
Streets of Rage · The Only Game in Town, Part 1 #
Axel, Blaze, Skates and Max find informant Julio strung up and cut him free behind the Battle Wagon, only for armour-piercing shells to shred the vehicle. Blaze's return fire fails as another blast flips the van and hurls her clear. Max crawls from the wreck into a street packed with gang members, and the four vigilantes are hauled into the open and set upon.
Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Peter Richardson · Letters: Tom Frame
Sonic the Hedgehog · Megadroid #
Megadroid steers Boomers round an eerily empty STC office after the Christmas bash: Control Zone screens, a Review Zone scoring computer, a paper-drowned News Zone and a Q Zone cafeteria serving micro-chips and oil. In the Art Zone he finds unfinished secret pages and a Sketch-A-Graph doodle, then is nearly buried when the Reference Cupboard disgorges junk. Alone in Speedlines with bags of letters and an overdue-library notice, he wishes everyone a merry Christmas.
Script: Carl Flint · Art: Nigel Kitching · Letters: Tom Frame
Knuckles · Carnival Night Conspiracy, Part 3 #
Knuckles samples the Hell House Ride, a haunted-house rollercoaster the Marxio Brothers have quietly sabotaged; the safety bar nearly squeezes the breath out of him. Faults multiply until the cart almost pitches him off the Floating Island, yet he clings on and survives. Dusting himself down, he cheerfully tells the brothers he loved every second and will let their carnival stay.
Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson · Letters: Elitta Fell
Reprinted in issue 174.
Amy · In Good Hands #
Racing toward Chemical Plant trouble, the Freedom Fighters leave Amy stuck in Green Hill. A half-dozen Buzz Bombers dive on the empty Zone; her crossbow downs three, and the other three smash themselves into rock. She proves the Zone was never undefended.
Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Roberto Corona, John M. Burns · Letters: Steve Potter
Marko's Magic Football · Marko's Magic Football, Part 1 #
Marko, an ordinary lad from North Sterlington with a magic football that once changed in green slime, daydreams his way into a surly policeman's path. A crashing suspect barrel drenches the officer, and the lawman warps into a monster. Marko's quiet stroll has just turned very strange.
Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Gary Andrews · Letters: Elitta Fell
