Issue overview

The Death Egg II begins breaking apart after losing the Master Emerald. Sonic is falling back towards Mobius under fire, and Knuckles must use the Floating Island itself in the last stage of the battle.

Original stories

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog · Disaster! Part 3 #

Freefalling with the Master Emerald, Sonic guns down the EggRobo that grabs it so the gem drops onto the Floating Island, then rides a stolen jetpack back up as Death Egg II tears apart. Robotnik's armoured suit nearly claims the Emerald until Sonic's Spin Attack shears it open and topples him over the rim—jets still sputtering. Three days later Sonic trades the Emerald to Knuckles for sanctuary: Emerald Hill Folk sail to Mushroom Hill while Robotnik still vows their ruin.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson · Letters: Ellie de Ville

    Reprinted in issue 167.

  2. Shinobi · Power Of The Elements, Part 7 #

With Kotomi-sensei dying, Kinpachi hauls Earth clear of the ground and finishes him; Bunzo knocks Fire and Water together so their crossed magics fell both. Musashi clears the Poison Hand with precise chi touches, declines the Roofworlders' plea to stay, and leaps away still bound by giri to his own sensei and the Neo Zeed.

Script: Alan McKenzie · Art: Jon Haward · Letters: Tom Frame

  3. Knuckles · Total Chaotix, Part 1 #

Chaos Emeralds restored, Knuckles tolerates Emerald Hill refugees in Mushroom Hill, then digs a buried giant ring from a Death Egg crater. Misreading a legend of 'dream country' for Nightmare Country, he is yanked into the Special Zone, where the Omni-Viewer brands him Robotnik's ally and summons Chaotix to settle his fate.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson · Letters: Elitta Fell

    Reprinted in issue 179.

  4. Sparkster · Last of the Rocket Knights, Part 1 #

Sparkster returns to Zebulon City branded public enemy number one; Paerie's lizard troops and Grum's E26 armour attack until he exploits an old design flaw and wrecks the robot. Paerie admits King Gedol now rules all of Elhorn—and that Sparkster stands alone as the last Rocket Knight.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Keith Page · Letters: Steve Potter
