Sonic the Comic #60

15 September 1995

Issue overview

Robotnik captures Sonic, then unexpectedly asks for his help against the Brotherhood of Metallix. Their temporary shared danger makes the second chapter more complicated than another fight between hero and dictator.

Original stories

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog · The Brotherhood of Metallix, Part 2 #

Robotnik explains that Grimer built the Metallixes and that only Sonic's speed can use the remaining Star Post into the Special Zone. Inside the Egg Fortress Sonic steals the Alpha Device, wrecks two Metallix escorts, then hands it back when the Emperor threatens Grimer. The Emperor vanishes to the Miracle Planet with the device, leaving Sonic to realise the Brotherhood are already ahead.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson, John M. Burns · Letters: Ellie de Ville

    Reprinted in issue 181.

  2. Ecco the Dolphin · Return of Ecco the Dolphin, Part 1 #

Recalling how he once freed the seas from the Vortex, Ecco accepts the Asterite's bargain and dives for the missing Black Pearl. An upcurrent blocks the trench until he pushes a boulder ahead as cover and slips into the depths among glowing deep-sea life. A distant light leads him to the Pearl — and to the colossal squid that guards it.

Script: Alan McKenzie · Art: Steve White · Letters: Elitta Fell

  3. Knuckles and Tails · The Revenge of Trogg, Part 2 #

Monster-Errol attacks with a sword; Knuckles ignores Warpull's order to stand aside and knocks the beast out for the stocks. Posing as Sonic to spare Tails embarrassment, he announces that the fox has a plan to free the Enchanter Kings. In Enchanted Battle Armour, Tails joins Knuckles on the Dimension Bridge toward the Land Beyond, still far from sure this is wise.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Nigel Kitching · Letters: Elitta Fell

    Reprinted in issue 199.

  4. Sonic's World · The Seven Badniks, Part 2 #

Cam and Bert land in Palmtree Panic and Bert's Number One Hammer silences any Badnik that refuses relocation. Once dumped in Green Hill the newcomers scorn the older models and start wrecking them; the agents reverse course and smash several invaders before fleeing in the Ark Pod with the survivors. The Miracle Planet machines celebrate their new home.

Script: Mark Eyles · Art: Mike Hadley, John M. Burns · Letters: Tom Frame
