Sonic the Comic #114

Issue overview

The Kintobor Computer receives an appeal from Chemical Plant Zone: a malfunction could spread pollution across neighbouring Zones. Sonic and Tails enter the factory to prevent a disaster in the first part of the crisis.

Original stories

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog · Crisis in the Chemical Plant Zone, Part 1 #

An audio-only SOS from the Chemical Plant Zone brings Sonic and Tails to directors who turn out to be the pardoned Marxio Brothers, papers and all. Inside a Mega Mack-soaked factory, liquid creatures claim to know Sonic and poison him as technicians flee in terror. From a flooded chamber they warn that the plant will explode and Mega Mack will foul the Emerald River and Emerald Hill Zone for a hundred years.

Script: Nigel Kitching · Art: Richard Elson · Letters: Tom Frame

  2. Tails · Fall of the Leaf, Part 2 #

More Eldorado robberies leave darts champion Eric Bungalow blaming Tails for his stolen gold trophy, even when the real fox arrives from the opposite direction. Allowed a chance to prove himself, Tails baits the thief with a fake Golden Bike Frame at the museum; the Leaf falls for it and escapes on mechanical wings until their batteries die. Tails catches him for the authorities, and the locals suddenly insist they knew he was innocent all along.

Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Nigel Dobbyn · Letters: Elitta Fell

    Reprinted in issue 193.

  3. Decap Attack · Chuck and the Cheese Factory, Part 1 #

After midnight, Chuck sneaks Barbecued Gibbon Slurp-A-Cheese into the castle; Igor catches him and a scrap follows until a golden ticket falls from the tub. Next morning Chuck and Head tour George Curdle's factory, where Slurp-A-Kins push runny cheese technology and Curdle rages at any hard slab he finds. Vat pressure hits critical just as the workers revolt: down with runny cheese.

Script: Nigel Kitching, Richard Rayner · Art: Nigel Kitching · Letters: Elitta Fell

  4. Sonic's World: Amy & Tekno · Earthbound, Part 1 #

Lost on the way home from the Kaamdaarn, Amy and Tekno crash a borrowed map-ship on a blue planet and meet friendly Professor Cratermass. He offers help finishing his gateway to infra-space; Tekno starts on the data before Colonel Granite's Operation Starwatch storms the house and takes all three prisoner.

Script: Lew Stringer · B&W art: Roberto Corona · Colour: John M. Burns · Letters: Tom Frame

    Reprinted in issue 213.
