Original stories
Sonic the Hedgehog · Mystery of the Sandopolis Zone, Part 1 #
Tails ferries Sonic to Sandopolis so he can scout Launch Base and sabotage the nearly restored Death Egg II. A Sandworm Badnik ambushes him; Knuckles watches but stays put, and Sonic finishes the worm with a reverse spin before both admit they share the same target. Captain Plunder, Filch and the Per'fessor interrupt, ignore Knuckles' warnings, and raise the Lost Pyramid of Sandopolis from the dunes.

Shinobi · Power Of The Elements, Part 1 #
After The Void's defeat, the Four Elements now serve the Yakuza and chafe under Oyabun Mitsugi's indifference. Joe Musashi watches their casino in a news-vendor disguise they have already spotted. Air persuades Mitsugi to authorise the capture; the Elements ambush Musashi and knock him cold.

Sonic's World · Enter the Cybernik, Part 3 #
Furious at his creation's betrayal, Robotnik attacks Emerald Hill in an assault mobile until the Cybernik wrecks the gun and nearly the vehicle. A circuit-scrambler stalls the fight long enough for Sonic to drive Robotnik off; the Cybernik then smashes the device. Offered a Freedom Fighter place, he declines, names himself Shortfuse, bids Hopper farewell, and flies off to settle scores alone.
Script: Lew Stringer · Art: Roberto Corona, John M. Burns · Letters: Steve Potter
Reprinted in issue 202.
Captain Plunder · Captain Plunder & His Sky Pirates, Part 1 #
Aboard the luxury airship Robotnicus, Robotnik's party for Mobius's villains is crashed by Captain Plunder and the Sky Pirates. Confident his vault needs distant keys, Robotnik leads them there — until poltergeist Filch walks through the door and opens it from inside. The crew hauls the tax treasure clear before Troopers arrive, then realises they left Plunder behind and he is already captured.
